Nancy Pelosi Mocked Over Major Error In Her Tweet About Trump Indictment

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was ridiculed on Twitter Thursday for her reaction to the impeachment of former President Donald Trump, as it appeared to destroy a key principle of criminal law.

“The grand jury acted on the facts and the law,” Pelosi (D-Calif.), 83, wrote in her post. “No one is above the law and everyone has the right to a trial to prove their innocence,” he added. “Hopefully, the former president will peacefully respect the system, which guarantees him this right.”

Her failure to acknowledge that Trump is granted the presumption of innocence, one of the basic requirements of a fair trial and an internationally recognized human right by the United Nations, has sparked criticism on the social media platform.

“We don’t have to prove our innocence in America, Mrs. Pelosi,” Harmeet Dhillon, a former legal adviser to the Trump campaign, kindly reminded the California Democrat in a Twitter post. In a far more forceful reaction, conservative radio host Mark Levin derided Pelosi as a “bitch” and a “Stalinist” for her job.

Pelosi a Stalinist. Prove innocence? He’s innocent until proven guilty, asshole. Or at least it used to be,” Levin raged.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) echoed Levin, tweeting, “The right to ‘prove innocence’? This is America, not Stalinist Russia.”

Representative. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) chastised the former House Speaker, calling his view of the justice system “distorted.”

“Strange, I thought the standard was ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ Welcome to the twisted America of Biden and Pelosi…”
