An Arkansas judge rebuked Hunter Biden’s legal team for concealing his financial records in relation to his ongoing child support battle.
Judge Holly Meyer chastised Hunter’s legal team during the two-hour proceedings, saying that they wrongly concealed the 53-year-old’s financial data that had already been submitted to the court as part of the ongoing legal battle.
“The ability to redact is somewhat being abused,” Judge Meyer told Hunter’s attorneys before ordering them to refile some of those papers.
This comes after Hunter requested child support payment changes for the 4-year-old daughter he had with ex-stripper Lunden Roberts. The case was reopened in September, wherein the younger Biden is seeking to reduce his monthly payments due to a “significant material change” in his “financial circumstances, including but not limited to his income.”
Meyer on Monday ordered Hunter to answer more written inquiries concerning his finances, including investments, art sales, and other financial activities.
The Bidens have never acknowledged Hunter’s daughter, whom he denied was his until a DNA test confirmed he was the dad.
“Every child needs loving parents and loving grandparents,” Roberts’ lawyer previously said. “This child could stand a relationship with her father. She could stand a relationship with her grandfather.”
Hunter reached a settlement with Roberts in 2020 after claiming that he was too poor to pay child support, despite his role in shady overseas business dealings that are believed to have enriched the Biden family.
Roberts, meanwhile, recently filed an application to have the child’s name changed to Biden. The filing was submitted in the 16th Circuit Court in Independence County by the counsel representing Roberts.
The application states that the baby would “benefit from carrying the Biden family name,” and the “Biden name is now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute, and politically powerful.”
It also notes that the Biden family remains “estranged from the child. To the extent this is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family.”
