Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre is calling for a boycott of Fox News following the recent firing of Tucker Carlson.
During Monday’s episode of former Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s podcast, she claimed that the network was trying to silence Carlson in an effort to rebuild its audience.
“You’re not going to go to digital media. You’re going to tune in to the Fox News primetime,” Kelly said, adding that Fox News continued to rely on the loyalty of its viewers to keep them tuned in.
“You black dogs. It’s what you always do. It’s how they have billions. That’s what’s happening here. Keep him silent on the sidelines for as long as possible, unable to use his voice on any of these things, on Fox, on politics, on anything. And we will win in the end, like we always do,” she continued.
Favre then echoed Kelly’s comments in a Twitter post, saying that Fox News should be held accountable for letting Carlson go.

“I’m with Tucker. Time to boycott Fox until they come to their senses and let the man speak,” the NFL legend tweeted, urging his followers to turn to alternative sources for their news.
Last week, Fox News reportedly lost over two-thirds of its audience, with a 39 percent drop in viewers during Sean Hannity’s 9 p.m. show and a 24% decrease in the key demographic during the 10 p.m. hour. The network’s prime time programming, which is their main source of income, has also suffered from the decline in ratings.
Kelly explained that prime time programming is “all anyone gives a sh*t about over there at Fox News. The prime time pays the bills, period. They’re all down,” adding that the network’s ratings reveal a major blow to Fox News, which has long prided itself on its dominance in the cable news industry.
It’s unclear what the future holds for Fox News as it tries to turn around its financial situation. But many believe the network needs to make some significant adjustments if they want to maintain their status as the country’s top cable news network.
