“F*ck you, man! F*ck you! F*ck you! F*ck you!” the trans person yelled at the man.
To which the man just joked, “I can feel the tolerance.”
The meltdown received wild responses on social media, with many pointing out the hypersensitivity of today’s generation and how even a simple slip-up can result in a full-blown overreaction.
“Why do they make it so easy to trigger them?” one Twitter user wondered. “Having a lack of emotional control makes you easy to manipulate.”
“It’s on purpose,” another one noted of the person’s tantrum. “They don’t think they’re triggered, they THINK they’re actually doing the right thing. You see her face light up knowing she’s gonna get recorded ‘owning’ a bigot. We’re just not clinically insane, so we see reality for what it actually is.”
“This is what happens when you send your kids to government schools. Learn from it. Don’t make the same mistakes,” tweeted another.
Similarly, a transgender Starbucks employee in England was fired after assaulting a customer who “misgendered” them, according to reports.
The incident occurred earlier this month at a Southampton, Hampshire, location when the employee in question verbally confronted a female customer and physically assaulted the man who captured the incident on video.
The Starbucks employee repeatedly yelled at the woman who “misgendered” them and later attacked the man recording both of them, demanding he hand over his phone.
The employee was immediately fired after the video blew up on Twitter, which has since received more than 2 million views and 16,000 likes on the social media platform.
Starbucks has also released a statement regarding the altercation, as have the authorities, who have initiated an investigation. “The licensee has confirmed that the partner (employee) no longer works at the company. Starbucks has no tolerance for behaviour of this kind and we are very sorry for the experience that this customer had.”
