The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is refusing to produce a document related to President Joe Biden’s investigation.
According to the Washington Examiner, the FBI again refused to turn over a subpoenaed document relating to an alleged bribery scheme involving Biden and a foreign national.
“The FBI’s delay in producing a single, unclassified record is unacceptable,” Comer said.

Rep. @JamesComer doubled down on the push to get an #FBI document that linked @JoeBiden to a pay-to-play bribery scheme while he was vice president. https://t.co/mmCRdQTlGD
Republicans Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer of Kentucky demanded FD-1023 from the FBI, which allegedly outlines the “alleged criminal scheme” involving a foreign national and President Joe Biden during the Obama administration.
The unclassified FD-1023 is described as an “alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”
The FBI previously refused to produce the document earlier this month and again refused to comply with the subpoena.
“Justice [Department] policy strictly limits when and how confidential human source information can be provided outside of the FBI,” wrote Christopher Dunham, the FBI acting assistant director for congressional affairs, in a letter.
The repeated refusals have prompted Comer to announce “next steps” that will be coming soon in the investigation.
“At today’s staff briefing with FBI officials, the FBI again did not produce the unclassified record subpoenaed by Chairman Comer,” said Jessica Collins, a spokeswoman for the committee. “The Oversight Committee will announce next steps soon.”
Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has also stepped in and reiterated that Congress has a jurisdiction to oversee the FBI.
“This is one piece of paper that a chairman of a committee has requested to see. He hasn’t even acknowledged whether he has this document, but he hasn’t even provided it,” McCarthy said. “I explained to the director that we will do everything in our power, that we have jurisdiction over the FBI, and we have the right to see this document,” the GOP House leader continued.
This comes after bank records obtained from the committee’s previous subpoena also show that First Son Hunter Biden received payments totaling about $610,000 as part of a 2017 agreement with a Chinese company, while First Brother James Biden received payments totaling about $360,000, and the president’s daughter-in-law Hallie Biden received payments totaling about $25,000.
