Trump Faces 45 New Charges

According to a late June report from the UK Independent, federal prosecutors, under the purview of special counsel Jack Smith’s office, are gearing up to levy additional charges against former President Donald Trump in the upcoming weeks.

Insiders familiar with the ongoing investigation revealed that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is contemplating a “superseding indictment” against Trump in the Southern District of Florida. This indictment could bring a second set of charges, potentially encompassing more severe crimes.

Simultaneously, the sources indicated that federal prosecutors might also pursue an indictment against Trump in a separate district. This decision would hinge on whether they believe Judge Aileen Cannon, presiding over the case in Florida, has shown “undue deference” to the former president.

The sources disclosed that special counsel Jack Smith’s office is currently preparing an additional 30 to 45 charges, either as part of the superseding indictment in Florida or as a separate case in another jurisdiction. This new evidence has not yet been publicly acknowledged and includes additional recordings of Trump making potentially incriminating remarks.

Moreover, the insiders allege that the special counsel’s office is ready to bring charges against several attorneys who represented Trump, such as former lawyer Rudy Giuliani and other legal advisors who supported his attempts to remain in office after the 2020 election. Giuliani, after agreeing to be interviewed by prosecutors in the special counsel’s office, secured immunity from charges related to his statements during the interview.

However, according to one insider, Giuliani may still face charges concerning his actions between the 2020 election and the January 6 riot. Giuliani’s advisor, Ted Goodman, maintained that the meeting between Giuliani and the special counsel was entirely voluntary but declined to provide further details.

In another development, Giuliani is among the Trump allies that could face charges by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is investigating alleged election interference in Georgia. Willis is reportedly contemplating charges against Trump, Giuliani, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and several Georgia Republican officials.

As the investigations unfold, the possibility of additional charges being brought against Donald Trump and his associates continues to draw significant attention from the public and the media.
