War in Ukraine About to Reach New Heights

The war in Ukraine could finally reach its end as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his confidence that Russia would lose the war.

Speaking in Denmark on Sunday, Zelenskyy announced that Denmark and the Netherlands will deliver U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, which could help end the Russian invasion.

“Today we are confident that Russia will lose this war,” Zelenskyy told the crowd gathered outside the Danish parliament.

Russia had previously warned that giving the jets to Ukraine would only cause the already prolonged war to worsen. Nearly 5 percent of Ukraine’s land is currently occupied by Russian forces, and Kyiv is working hard to push them out.

“The fact that Denmark has now decided to donate 19 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine leads to an escalation of the conflict,” Russian ambassador Vladimir Barbin said in a statement. “By hiding behind a premise that Ukraine itself must determine the conditions for peace, Denmark seeks with its actions and words to leave Ukraine with no other choice but to continue the military confrontation with Russia.”

Zelensky, meanwhile, has continued to reiterate that the war will soon be over and that Russian President Vladimir Putin will die within ten years.

“Putin will not live for so many years,” he said during an interview with Brazilian TV channel GloboNews recently. “At the pace at which he is fighting with us, he didn’t fight [like that] in Syria.

“He won’t withstand it. He won’t live for 30 more years. He will die – this is completely clear,” he continued. “But he won’t survive ten years either. He’s not the same figure anymore.”

This comes as the Biden administration recently authorized the military to deploy 3,000 more troops to Ukraine as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve.

“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby determine that it is necessary to augment the active Armed Forces of the United States for the effective conduct of Operation Atlantic Resolve in and around the United States European Command’s area of responsibility,” President Joe Biden said last month.

Operation Atlantic Resolve is an initiative that was launched after Russia invaded the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. Created by NATO, the program aims to strengthen their deterrence posture along their eastern flank.
