Trump Forced To Debate

Former President Donald Trump has defended his choice to skip the opening GOP primary debate, but all indications are that he will not be able to do so for the remainder of the campaign.

“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had,” Trump previously posted on Truth Social, his social media platform. “Therefore, I will not be doing the debates!”

His spokesperson did not immediately make it clear whether he intended to boycott all primary debates or just those scheduled at the time.

Trump has additionally stated that he will not participate in any of the debates because he is currently leading the Republican primary race by a significant margin, and advisers have said that it would be a surprise if he attended the following primary debate in California. Still, the polling results from the debate reveal a different reality.

Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-Fla.) 2016 presidential campaign manager, Alex Conant, claimed that not participating in the presidential debate is risky and that the first debate succeeded because all of the candidates spent their time criticizing one another.

After the presidential debate, support for numerous other Republican candidates, including Governor Ron DeSantis, Former Vice President Mike Pence, and Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, has surged. Vivek Ramaswamy, a businessman, suffered a decline in support from 10 to 9 percent, even though 27% of respondents said he prevailed in the debate.

On the other hand, Trump’s opponents had been pressuring him to show up and get ready in the hopes that he might, worried that a no-show might cast them as secondary candidates and deprive them of the chance to deliver a devastating hit against the race’s Trump that could alter the course of the presidential race.

Trump has retaliated against the insults, expressing that he saw little need to take part given his commanding lead.

“It’s not a question of guts. It’s a question of intelligence,” he remarked.

His advisors continued to assert for weeks that he had not made a final decision. However, it is already “pretty clear” from his public and private declarations that he was unlikely to appear.
