A teacher in New York was arrested after claiming that he prefers underage girls, and that he apparently had sex “with a 10th grader once” during a conversation with an undercover FBI agent pretending to be a 13-year-old girl.
Kostas Fekkas, a 34-year-old teacher, was detained on September 14 and is accused of having two counts of child pornography in his possession.
Fekkas had previously worked as a teacher at a charter school in Manhattan as well as other institutions in the Bronx and Westchester County. He was caught in a three-month undercover sting operation by the FBI. As part of the covert operation, an FBI agent used the alias “Riley” to speak with Fekkas, who inappropriately reacted to the person he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
Fekkas, a 30-year-old physics teacher who used the nickname “CJ Justice,” allegedly used the app Kik to make contact with potential targets.
The criminal complaint details purported photo exchanges between Fekkas and “Riley,” prompting his accusations. The adult educator is said to have done an unacceptable act of asking a minor for sexual images.
Investigators allegedly found distressing evidence, such as sensually graphic texts and child pornography, that was purportedly connected to Fekkas.
HideU, an app that was skillfully disguised as a calculator, is where these materials were found, demonstrating the difficulties that law enforcement confront in stopping such illegal operations.
The involvement of a 12-year-old girl makes this case even more disturbing. The same app, according to the authorities, included messages and sexual content relating to her.
The investigation claims that over the course of five days in December 2022, Fekkas invited “Riley” to partake in sexual activities with him while sending obscene images.
Fekkas stated in response to a picture the account’s user supplied him that he wanted to “make out” with the alleged teenager “all day,” adding that he wanted her to “be super comfortable before you show me more of your face and before I get to see your body.”
US Attorney Damian Williams for the Southern District of New York, who did not spare words in calling the alleged conduct “despicable.” Fekkas is accused of breaking the trust of children in the most terrible way.
If found guilty on both counts of possessing child pornography, Fekkas will be subject to a mandatory sentence of five to twenty years. He is also accused of attempting to transfer pornographic material, a crime that carries a possible 10-year prison term.
