Ukraine attacked the Crimean port of Feodosia which damaged a large Russian warship and killed one person. Using air-launch missiles, they attacked Feodosia, damaging a large landing ship called the Novocherkaask during the raid
Videos were surfacing on the Telegram messaging app that showed the powerful explosions from the attack and the fires that resulted. The attack sent flames over the Black Sea port, which was illegally taken from Ukraine by Russia in 2014.
“A brilliant special operation was carried out, strikes were carried out, we outsmarted the Russians, and we continue to do so now,” Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Col. Yuriy Ihnat said.
It was confirmed later on by Russia that Ukraine targeted Feodosia with air-borne missiles. Six people were evacuated from their homes, two were injured, and one was killed as a result of this strike.
The attack was applauded by many and some were impressed with Ukraine’s brilliant planning and tactics. It’s a win for Ukraine despite the ongoing attacks by Russia.
In response to the attack the military stated, “Despite significant losses, the enemy does not stop trying to knock our units out of their positions,” while Volodymyr Zelensky said “In total, five ‘Su’ aircraft were shot down in the week before Christmas. This is really impressive,”
Russia lost over 1,000 soldiers, 22 tanks, and 37 armored vehicles. The Ukrainian military says that this “set the mood” for the upcoming year and what they may be facing.
Zelensky mentioned on the Telegram App, “The stronger our air defense system is, the fewer Russian devils there will be in our sky and on our land,”
Even though Ukraine has gotten footing in this conflict, President Putin was informed that Russian forces had “completely liberated the settlement of Maryinka.” Russia is fighting back with all its resources.
