The New Year has come and gone, but we are still working with our last recall of 2023, which happened on New Year’s Eve and involved thousand pounds of ground beef. A company called Valley Meats LLC said on December 31 that they were recalling 6,700 pounds of ground beef because it might have E. coli in it.
“The problem was found when the establishment told FSIS that samples of ground beef products sent to a third-party laboratory for microbiological analysis tested positive for E. coli,” the agency wrote.
The ground beef came from a company in Coal Valley, Illinois, and was made on December 23, 2023. The ground beef was sent to Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Iowa so that companies and restaurants could serve it.
A number called EST. 5712 will be written on the USDA sticker of the goods that are being shipped. Everyone has been told about the recall, but no one has reported any bad effects. The agency is worried that restaurants may still have polluted food in their freezers or fridges, so they tell restaurants to get rid of it.

The group told them “not to serve these products” and to either throw them away or take them back to where they were bought.
