Energy groups are telling GOP leaders in the House to fight against Biden’s Green New Deal climate policy.
Biden just released his Green New Deal Agenda, which has caused a lot of controversy, and many people are against it. A lot of people think Biden’s plan will make things worse instead of better, and there are a lot of problems that need to be fixed in the deal.
A letter was sent to Speaker Mike Johnson telling him to vote against Biden’s plan. The letter said, “Not only do 2023’s climate science claims fall far short of reality and honesty, but President Biden’s Green New Deal climate policy agenda is also rapidly melting down and counting down to disaster.”
It was backed up by a 13-page document with reports that argued claims that world temperatures were rising and that populations of things like monarch butterflies were going down. However, the claims in the document were false and incorrect.
“Not a day goes by without news of some sort of EV disaster or problem,” the letter said, pointing out many places where they were trying to get their point across about the problems with electric cars and other similar changes. From child labor in the Congo to key materials and parts coming from Communist China in the supply chain, to low customer demand due to high prices, hassle, and poor performance or failure.
It went on to say, “Over the next 10 years, taxpayers will pay $50,000 for each EV, which is a huge waste of money.” This is the same amount of money as a rebate for gas, $17.33 per gallon. On top of everything else that’s wrong with this, EVs will never make the climate or world better.
He said a lot of things that showed his climate plan has a lot of changes that don’t make sense and haven’t been shown to make the changes we want to see in the climate. They talked about offshore wind farms and how important they were to Biden’s plan. However, this did not help the earth or the climate at all.
As Biden pushed for certain rules to help with Electric Vehicle Chargers, this came up right after his “Buy America” plan was turned down. The plan was turned down because China would gain from it since they are the biggest manufacturer of EV chargers.
“The false claims used to support the Green New Deal agenda and its ensuing policy failures are endangering our economic and national security, as well as our freedoms and standard of living, without producing any clear benefits,” the letter to Johnson said.
At the end of the letter, they said that they hoped these problems would be solved in 2024 and that Biden’s Green New Deal Agenda would be looked over with these problems in mind.
