Families of the victims are furious after the Uvalde shooting report

A new report says that the cops did nothing wrong when they responded to the shooting at the school in Uvalde, Texas. The families of the victims are speaking out in anger about this.

At first, there was debate about how slow the police were to respond to the killing, but Jesse Prado, a private investigator, said that the officers did what they did in good faith. “That’s what you call good faith?” That’s how long they stood there for, Veronica Mata said, whose 10-year-old daughter was killed. An ex-student named Salvador Ramos led the attack that killed 19 kids and 2 teachers.

Many parents were seen leaving before Prado’s speech was over because they didn’t agree with what he was saying. He said that, on the whole, the cops weren’t doing anything wrong at the time.

He did say, though, that there were problems with communication and training during active shooter situations, and that it took too long to get into the classroom where the gunman was.

In her words, the police “waited after they got call after call that kids were still alive in there.” There have been reports in the past that the police work during the school killing was not up to par.

It took more than an hour for the nearly 400 police officers who were called to the shooting to get there. Reports say that the police officers were waiting outside while the shooter shot dozens of people inside. The report mostly talked about how long it took for the police to respond and how they didn’t know there was a shooter on the grounds. It also said that there were “cascading failures of leadership, decision-making, tactics, policy, and training.”
