A fatal crash in Texas was caused by Ford Autopilot

The person who was driving a Ford electric SUV that was in a fatal crash in February was said to have been using the autopilot mode of their car.

The data from the Mustang Mach E SUV shows that Ford’s “Blue Cruise” driver-assist system was being used either before or during the crash. Because they have been in deadly accidents, the Ford Mustang Mach Es are being looked into by the National Transportation Safety Board right now.

It was said that both of the deadly crashes happened at night and involved hitting stopped cars on the freeway. People said that the cars did not or could not avoid the crash. For their part, Ford said that drivers need to be fully awake and ready to take over the auto-driving feature if they need to.

One of the deaths happened in Texas around 10 p.m., when the car hit a Honda that was stopped on the road. The older driver of the Honda died in the accident.

It was the second crash that happened when the Ford hit a car that was stopped after hitting another car. Both men were killed when the Ford slammed into the stopped car and hit the owners who were standing outside the accident scene.

As a reaction, the agency said that they are working on safety measures to make sure that accidents like this don’t happen again. People will not have to hold on to the steering wheel when they use Ford’s Blue Cruise System. It will steer, stop, and speed up on its own. The system will make sure the driver stays focused on the road, though.
