Given the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was necessary to develop and make widely available techniques for detecting the COVID-19 virus in people. This opened a new way of rapid testing that could be done at home without consulting hospitals directly.
However, citizens are hesitant about the manufactured tests as some are made from China.
The National Institutes of Health released new research from the American Journal of Emergency Medicine confirming that people’s most considerable suspicions about ‘made in China’ home Covid tests were justified.
In January, the Biden administration said it would purchase a billion tests, including those manufactured in China, to be distributed “for free” to U.S. families.
The White House declared that to guarantee that Americans have access to testing in an emergency, the Biden Administration is buying one billion at-home, quick COVID-19 tests for free distribution to Americans. They said that half-billion tests would be sent directly to American households once ordered on January 19.
Unfortunately, after usage, not only were the tests defective in terms of false positives and poor sensitivity, but they also discovered the presence of a hazardous substance in “many Covid-19 rapid antigen home test kits.”
However, sodium azide is well-known for its propensity to cause damage to people, particularly after oral exposures and perhaps including ingestion of reagent solution. Additionally, since the packaging of the reagent solution may contain ampules that enable the delivery of drops of solution to the test instrument, accidental ocular sodium azide exposures may occur if the ampule is mistaken for an eyedropper.”
It was found that sodium azide was present in some testing kits.
Sodium azide is most commonly known to cause harm to humans through oral exposure, including ingestion of reagent solutions. If an ampule is mistaken for an eyedropper in the reagent solution packaging, unintentional ocular sodium azide exposures may occur when drops of solution are applied to the test device.
Reports stated, “sodium azide is a colorless, odorless, and water-soluble compound that is often employed as a preservative. The compound is also used as a propellant in certain automotive airbags; upon impact, it burns and converts into hydrocarbon vapors, causing the airbag to expand.”
Although studies on sodium azide’s acute toxicity in humans are sparse, the Chemical may induce significant adverse outcomes upon oral administration of very modest dosages. In trials, some showed symptoms of hypotension, people with hypertension experienced an increase in blood pressure, and adults that took more dosage led to cardiac arrhythmias, metabolic acidosis, and mortality.
As a result, some mentally disturbed people may be continually testing for Covid using these fast antigen tests and eating dangerously high doses of sodium azide. This danger is increased if the medication is given to youngsters frequently.
People who make COVID-19 home test kits say that the reagent fluid in many of these kits has sodium azide in concentrations of 0.0125–0.0946 percent and that the reagent fluid volume in these kits is small (0.3–0.625 mL). “Thus, reagents with sodium azide concentrations less than 0.09–0.095 percent usually have deficient amounts of sodium azide (0.04–0.08 mg), which is well below the amount that should cause adults to have a short-term drop in blood pressure.” When you buy kits that have more than 0.09 percent sodium azide, like the BD VeritorTM and Celltrion DiaTrust testing systems, you’ll find that they have about 0.3 mg of sodium azide in them [10,11]. Ingestions of this size may cause low blood pressure, less blood flow to the body’s organs, and fainting. Even small amounts of reagent fluids can cause severe problems for children, so they should be closely watched for signs of hypotension or other issues after ingesting even small amounts of the juices. After consuming reagent fluid, sodium azide can cause low blood pressure quickly, so people who don’t have any symptoms should probably not be kept under observation for a long time. “The treatment for sodium azide poisoning that is causing symptoms is supportive and includes intravenous fluids and medications that make the heart work faster.”
While home COVID-19 tests have been hard to come by for most of this pandemic, the U.S.researchers say the government started giving free trials to its citizens in mid-January 2022. Before the free tests were given out, many people exposed to COVID-19 home test reagent fluid by drinking it were reported to U.S. poison centers. There were 153 reports of people getting poisoned by COVID-19 home test kits or reagents from June 16, 2021, to January 19, 2022, on the online web POISONCONTROL® tool, which is called that. Emergency doctors, pharmacists, and poison center workers should be aware of the possible toxicities of the reagent fluids in COVID-19 rapid antigen home test kits. They should also be ready to treat patients who have been exposed to liquids.
Senate Republicans wrote a bill in February that would stop importing rapid Covid-19 tests from China. It didn’t pass in the Senate because of the Democrats.
It was co-sponsored by Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) (R-FL). $1.28 billion in taxpayer money was needed to cover all of the costs of the rapid tests that were done quickly.
A big pandemic called COVID-19 showed how important it is for us to get medical supplies from China. “Under President Biden, very little has been done to bring this manufacturing back to the United States. Instead, this administration is sending money to China to pay for millions of COVID tests.”
In Scott’s words: “The federal government must do everything it can to complete our public health mission in a cost-effective way that supports American manufacturing.” Instead of supporting American manufacturing, the Biden administration gives almost $1.3 billion in taxpayer money to a company in Communist China. The Biden administration should be ashamed for giving money to the Communist Chinese economy instead of the American economy.
If you thought a communist country caused the Covid pandemic, then it should come as no surprise that that country is also making and selling toxic home Covid-19 tests to its enemies, like the United States. One would hope that the Democratic Party would eventually get the memo that China is not Americans’ friend and, indeed, no taxpayers should be empowered with their money.
