Biden Further Angers Hispanic Voters by Lifting Cuban Sanctions

Hispanic voters in the United States are outraged by the Biden administration’s decision to ease sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela, which many of them left due to the socialist regimes’ oppression. Therefore.

It was only one day after President Joe Biden’s administration stepped up efforts to relax economic sanctions against oil-rich Venezuela, a frequent target of anti-government rallies since the 2021 uprisings in Cuba, whose authoritarian regime is well-known for its brutality.

According to individuals who spoke to Townhall, the events of the last week represent a softening of US foreign policy toward socialism, which will hurt the Democratic Party and its congressional candidates in the 2020 midterm elections. It’s especially shocking in Florida, a haven for exiles fleeing communism and its oppressive regime who’ve sought safety in the Sunshine State.

According to Giancarlo Sopo, a marketing exec who worked with former President Trump on his national Hispanic campaign in 2020, “it’s reasonable to deduce that the Democrats want to lose Florida – that much is apparent.” It’s possible that the Democrats aren’t aware that their policies are hurting them with Hispanic voters and those from Cuba and Venezuela.

Many Colombian Americans, according to Sopo, are keeping an eye on Colombia’s approaching elections, where a socialist follower of Maduro’s predecessor Hugo Chavez looks to have a good chance of winning the presidential office. Argentine and Chilean-Americans are also worried about their home nations becoming more socialist, Sopo said.

According to Sopo, “The White House is empowering the extreme left across the globe — and maybe pushing even more Hispanic voters to Republicanism” by supporting socialist regimes in Cuba and Venezuela.

Hispanic Republican non-profit Bienvenido President Abraham Enriquez stated in a letter to Townhall that the Biden administration’s new Cuba and Venezuela policies are “terribly misplaced” and will “certainly compound the White House’s issues with Hispanic groups across the nation.”

By and large, most Hispanic Americans want the United States to be strong on the ruthless Castro and Maduro governments, not to reward them with unilateral concessions,” Enriquez told Townhall. Strengthening those dictatorships will undermine pro-democracy partners in the Americas, empower anti-American regimes in places like Nicaragua, and make our country less safe.”

“The world will see” the Cuban regime’s suppression of last year’s anti-government protesters, a concerned administration voice was heard to say on Monday’s teleconference with top Biden officials.
