Alarming photos show President Joe Biden with a scabby knee after taking a big fall while biking on Saturday in Delaware.
In the newly released photos, Biden was seen walking on the beach with his granddaughter Natalie and daughter Ashley.
The president’s scabby knee was seen after falling off his bike in front of the media during the weekend when he celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary weekend with his wife Jill.
“As the President said, his foot got caught on the pedal while dismounting and he is fine,” a White House official told CNN shortly after the fall. “No medical attention is needed. The President looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”
Footage shows Biden pedaling on his bike while wearing a white helmet and a black top before taking a tumble in front of the press. Luckily, the 79-year-old was unharmed.
The biking incident comes after the president was captured tripping on the Air Force One steps several times last year.
Officials are growing concerned over Biden’s physical and mental well-being but the White House has brushed off questions related to the president’s health.
During an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon a week ago, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s physical and mental capabilities.
“Does the president have the stamina, physically and mentally, do you think to continue on even after 2024?” Lemon asked.
“Don, you’re asking me this question,” Jean-Pierre exclaimed. “Oh my gosh. He’s the president of the United States.”
The press secretary then laughed and told Lemon that she sometimes struggles to keep up with the president.
“That is not a question that we should be even asking,” she added. “Just look at the work he does. And look how he’s delivering for the American public.”
Jean-Pierre then brushed off criticisms from a recent New York Times report questioning the president’s well-being as “hearsay” and “not what we care about.”
Biden became the oldest individual ever elected to serve in the White House in November 2020, and could break the record should he decide to seek re-election in 2024.
