President Joe Biden made yet another embarrassing gaffe while speaking about the Holocaust during his high-stakes visit to Israel on Wednesday.
The mishap happened when Biden sounded like he was praising the Holocaust in his speech.
“Later today, I will once more return to the hallowed ground of Yad Vashem to honor the 6 million Jewish lives that were stolen in a genocide and continue,” he said.
“Which we must do every, every day — continue to bear witness, to keep alive the truth and honor of the Holocaust — horror of the Holocaust — honor those we lost, so that we never, ever forget that lesson, you know, and to continue our shared, unending work to fight the poison of anti-Semitism wherever it raises its ugly head,” the president added.
This comes after Biden lashed out at a reporter on Tuesday after a recent poll from the New York Times and Siena College found that only 26 percent of Democrats want the president to run for a second term.
“They want me to run,” he said during the White House Congressional Picnic. “Read the poll. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me.”
The poll also found that 64 percent would prefer the party pick someone different to be its standard-bearer in two years, while 94 percent of Democrats under the age of 30 want somebody besides Biden at the top of the ticket.
The president is definitely showing his old age recently when he also confused the “Title 42” border policy with the federal government’s transportation mask mandate.
During a press conference earlier this year, Biden was asked by a reporter whether he is considering delaying former President Donald Trump’s “Title 42” border policy.
“No, what I’m considering is continuing to hear from my – first of all, there’s going to be an appeal by the Justice Department,” he responded. “Because as a matter of principle, we want to be able to be in a position where if, in fact, it is strongly concluded by the scientists that we need Title 42 that we be able to do that. But there has been no decision on extending Title 42.”
As per usual, the White House went into “damage control” mode and issued a statement clarifying his remarks: “I want to clarify that, in comments at the conclusion of my remarks this morning, I was referring to the CDC’s mask mandate and there is no Department of Justice action on Title 42.”
Biden became the oldest individual ever elected to serve in the White House in November 2020, and could break the record should he decide to seek re-election in 2024.
