“Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough attacked both former President Donald Trump and his supporters following his speech exposing the incompetency of Democrats.
During a recent episode of the MSNBC morning program, Scarborough called Trump’s speech and the attitude it represents a “sickness.”
“This is the sickness we have to deal with, Katty Kay, in America,” Scarborough exclaimed. “When somebody’s political party is not running the White House, suddenly that segment of America says that the United States of America is ‘declining.’ When their party is in the White House, suddenly everything is wonderful.”
Scarborough went even farther in pushing back on the former president’s speech, claiming that America is in great conditions at the moment and that Trump tried to launch a “fascist coup.”
“I think America is great. People hear it all the time,” he continued. “They get tired of me talking about how we still are exceptional despite the problems in Washington D.C. But Donald Trump continues to feed upon this pathology, and here he goes again talking about America in decline. All because he wasn’t able to pull off his fascist coup.”
Similarly, Brzezinski jumped in and blasted Trump supporters instead by insisting that they’re in a cult.
“What is wrong with you? Because you are choosing to stand with lunatics, freaks, insurrectionists, and people who stand on the side of rapists,” Brzezinski said. “We’re not talking about Republican versus Democratic policymakers. We’re talking about facts. And these people won’t face them. There is something wrong with them.”
Brzezinski also previously went on a tirade attacking Republicans, saying that the battle between Democrats and the GOP is a struggle between “good and evil.”
“We do want to make a differentiation between Democrats and Republicans,” she said while speaking to Crooked Media’s Editor-in-Chief, Brian Beutler. “And I’m sorry, good and evil at this point.”
MSNBC has been desperate in making itself relevant lately, especially after its flagship shows received terrible ratings recently, including Chuck Todd’s “Meet the Press.”
“Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” peaked with an average of more than four million viewers in the first quarter of 2017 when Trump was president. However, the news program attracted an average of just over 2.3 million viewers last June.
