Liberal Media Have Renamed The Inflation Reduction Act

Liberal media outlets are under fire after suddenly renaming the “Inflation Reduction Act” since it won’t do anything to reduce inflation numbers.

As President Joe Biden signed the legislation on Wednesday, CNN’s chief White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins framed it as “the climate, tax and health care bill.”

Reuters also dropped the pretense that the bill was about reducing inflation, as did many other left-leaning media outlets.

“Biden signs into law a $430 billion climate, healthcare and tax bill that is seen as the biggest climate package in U.S. history and designed to cut prescription drug prices,” the international news agency reported.

New York Daily News also reported about the legislation with the title “Biden signs massive climate and health care legislation into law.”

Biden was previously blasted for insisting that the newly passed reconciliation bill would not raise taxes on anyone in the middle class despite evidence claiming otherwise.

“When we pass the Inflation Reduction Act, not a single American in the middle class will pay higher taxes. It’s that simple,” the president tweeted earlier this month.

The controversial tweet prompted many users to vent their frustration at Biden, including Arizona Republican state congressional candidate Christian Lamar, who claimed that the legislation would make life harder for the average American.

“How exactly is raising the corporate tax rate by 15% going to reduce inflation? American Corporations will pass this tax cost over to US consumers causing higher inflation. The Biden gas hike was passed on to US consumers as 40 year record high inflation,” Lamar wrote.

Over 200 economic experts also sent a letter to the House and Senate leadership, warning that the Democrats’ plan will fuel inflation, leaving Americans worse off than they were.

“[The act] inaptly named ‘Inflation Reduction Act of 2022’ would do nothing of the sort and instead would perpetuate the same fiscal policy errors that have helped precipitate the current troubling economic climate,” the letter read.

Additionally, a recent poll from the Economist/YouGov found that 36 percent of respondents believe that the bill would worsen current inflation numbers, while only 12 percent think that it will help lower costs.
