Manufacturing Workers Blast Biden’s Student Debt Handout As Unfair

Although President Biden enjoys highlighting his Pennsylvania working-class background, production employees in at least one region of the Keystone state believe the White House’s $500 billion student loan offer is a huge slap in the face to America’s working and middle class.

At the Donsco, Inc. iron foundry in south-central Pennsylvania on Thursday, Fox News Digital spoke with a number of people about the student loan system.

According to Jim Davis, a supervisor at the Donsco factory, “It’s not going to affect the people that are here, the people that are actually out doing all the work.” Biden’s “going to help the people in the bigger cities because that’s what [he] wants,” he added.

The payout particularly enraged Francisco Hernández, a colon cancer survivor who was driven out of retirement due to 40-year rampant inflation.

For those who earn less than $125,000 a year, Biden plans to eliminate $10,000 in student loan debt. If their earnings are below the same limit as Pell Grant applicants, they will be given a payout of $20,000.

Additionally, the White House has been firm in postponing student loan handouts until the end of the year. Moreover, to increase the cost of the giveaway to taxpayers, the Education Department is restricting undergraduate loan payments to 5% of a borrower’s monthly salary.

“That’s what today’s announcement is about. It’s about opportunity. It’s about giving people a fair shot,” the president stated while announcing the handout.

Tony Bell, a worker at the Donsco factory, had another opinion regarding the handout.

Bell commented, “I think it’s a bad idea.” explains that Donsco is continuously hiring, so college students can always visit the company to work during their free time and pay off their debt.

A few of the employees also voiced concern about the example that Biden was establishing regarding personal responsibility in his handout.

Wasileski said that it was likely that white-collar professionals would gain from Biden’s student loan giveaway at the expense of blue-collar employees.

He declared, “I don’t think a plumber should be funding a doctor’s free medical school.”

The cost of the gifts is estimated by the Committee for a Responsible Budget to be between $440 billion and $600 billion.

Officials at the White House assert that the program is completely funded because the deficit is already decreasing.

According to economists, the White House’s remarks and refusal to provide specific offsets for the student debt transfer, such as tax increases or budget cuts, indicate that the administration simply intends to add the money to the $726 billion federal budget deficit.
