One in four Americans are reportedly skipping Thanksgiving this year, thanks to the Biden administration’s failed economic policies.
According to a recent Personal Capital survey, one quarter of Americans are planning to skip Thanksgiving this year to save money, while one in five “doubted they would have enough money to cover the costs of Thanksgiving this year.”

The survey also found that one-third of Americans expect their Thanksgiving dinner this year to be “smaller,” while 45 percent said they are “financially stressed” by the upcoming holiday.
Additionally, some families plan to cut the cost of the celebration. 36 percent plan to use coupons, 32 percent plan to compare prices, 28 percent will skip traveling, another 28 percent plan to buy a smaller turkey, and 88 percent said they plan to cut “at least one dish” from their table to save money.
“With financial strain and tightened budgets, the easiest way to save money this Thanksgiving may be to skip it altogether. A 2021 IPSOS survey found that 9 in 10 Americans planned to celebrate Thanksgiving last year. But our survey found that this year, only around 7 in 10 had plans to do so,” Personal Capital wrote in its report.
This comes as the Labor Department’s latest Consumer Price Index report showed that prices increased 0.4 percent since August.
Americans have been suffering financial strain due to rising inflation and skyrocketing gas prices. A survey from Ramussen earlier this month found that 57 percent of adults believe the U.S. will likely experience a “1930s-like Depression” over the next several years, including 27 percent who think it’s “very likely” the country will experience an economic depression.
The continued economic downturn has also doomed the Democrats ahead of the midterm elections next month, as a Times and Siena College survey found that 52 percent of voters said that they trust Republicans to manage the economy, while only 38 percent put their faith in the Dems.
Republican lawmakers have used the current state of economic affairs to attack Democrats ahead of the midterms.
“Too many Americans are living the nightmare of having to choose between buying gas they can’t afford, buying groceries they can’t afford, and paying energy bills they can’t afford,” said Wyoming GOP Sen. John Barrasso. “Families are struggling under the Democrats’ radical agenda.”
