Disney Just LOST Its Most Powerful Tool

Disney takes another blow as members of the Star Wars religion leave, thanks to the company forcing “wokeness” into the once beloved franchise.

According to the Financial Post, nearly 200,000 members have left the “Jedi Knight,” an officially recognized religion based on the Star Wars movies.

“Hundreds of thousands of people [390,127] recorded their religious affiliation as a member of the mystical religion from the Star Wars movie series on census forms in 2001 and 2011. That led to “Jedi Knight” being officially recognized with its own category in the data by the Office for National Statistics (ONS),” the Financial Post reported.

However, recent data show that membership in the religion has dropped below 1,600 since a decade ago.The low numbers have aggregated it into a “no religion” category.

“It’s not so much Return of the Jedi, more the demise of the Jedi,” said a spokesperson for the ONS.

This comes following a series of financial failures thanks to former Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s eagerness to appease the “woke” crowd. The company laid off workers last month after its stock dropped to an all-time low.

Disney’s recent quarterly earnings results showed an operating loss of $1.47 billion for its streaming entertainment services, while its stock collapsed to 13.16 percent, marking the lowest drop in two years.

Chapek also found himself in a flurry of controversial issues, such as Scarlett Johansson’s pay dispute and battles with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which led to DeSantes revoking Disney’s special tax status in the state.

As a result of this mess, the Walt Disney Company reinstated Bob Iger as CEO. Iger, who retired from Disney last year after 15 years as chief executive, has laid out his priorities for the company.

“I am extremely optimistic for the future of this great company and thrilled to be asked by the Board to return as its CEO,” Iger said in a statement on Sunday. “Disney and its incomparable brands and franchises hold a special place in the hearts of so many people around the globe—most especially in the hearts of our employees.”
