Politician Dies by ‘Self-Starvation’ in Arizona Prison

An Arizona medical examiner ruled the cause of death of former politician and pedophile advocate Nathan Larson as suicide by starvation.

Larson, 41, who campaigned in Virginia to legalize child pornography, died on Sept. 18, 2022, while in an Arizona prison receiving medical treatment.

A Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s (MCME) report to Newsweek indicated that Larson was incarcerated in the Fresno County Jail in California “when he stopped eating.”

Larson had been in prison on charges of soliciting child pornography and other felonies.

In December 2021, Fresno prison records indicated that he complained of pitting edema, caused by poor circulation or excess fluid retention and that he had an elevated heart rate that was “suggestive of heart failure.”

It added: “The symptoms started when the deceased (Larson) started eating and drinking more after a hunger strike of about 30 days.”

The documents said Larson underwent a mental health evaluation for the first time for refusing to eat on June 11, 2022. On June 21, Larson was diagnosed with COVID and placed on treatment with remdesivir. He continued to have “profound muscle weakness” and later required a ventilator, which was removed on August 14.

Larson would continue to participate in physical and occupational therapy until Sept. 6, when he was released from Promise Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. His health further deteriorated and a few days later he was pronounced dead at the facility.

The report, signed by Lesley E. Wallis, continues: “Further examination of medical records indicates that discussion with the deceased and his sister confirms suicidal ideation with cessation of food and water approximately six weeks prior to hospital admission.

“It is also noted that the discussion with the deceased’s sister and lawyer confirms the previous suicidal ideation and the deceased made attempts by refusing to ingest food and water.

“Based on the findings of the external examination and the investigative history available to me, it is my opinion that Nathan Daniel Larson, a 41-year-old man, died of complications of protein-calorie malnutrition and Wernicke’s encephalopathy. The form of death is suicide.”

According to the United States Office of Justice, there were 311 federal prisoner suicides in the country in 2019. Figures show that there has been a steady increase in the number of prison suicides, with 197 recorded in 2008. Larson, a white supremacist, was extradited to Fresno after police learned he traveled from Virginia to California in 2020 to kidnap a 12-year-old girl he treated online.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Larson went to the girl’s home and managed to get her to sneak out of the house before driving her to the city’s airport. Once they arrived, Larson put the girl on a long-haired wig in an attempt to change her appearance and also told her to “act like she’s disabled and can’t talk” and not to talk to anyone there.

Colorado police later arrested Larson and bailed the boy after learning the flight had a layover in Denver. Larson was later charged with misdemeanor harboring a minor, but also received misdemeanor charges in Fresno County for kidnapping, kidnapping a child, soliciting child pornography by a minor, and meeting a child with intent to have sexual intercourse.

She had previously run for Virginia three times and supported legalizing child pornography, abolishing the Department of Child Protective Services, and discouraging women from going to college. In his 2018 political manifesto, Larson expressed his admiration for Adolf Hitler, calling him a “white supremacist hero”.
