Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reportedly descended on President Joe Biden’s vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, amid the commander-in-chief’s mishandled documents scandal.
This comes a month after bombshell reports revealed that several classified documents from Biden’s tenure as vice president were discovered in his private office in November. The White House Counsel’s Office later searched the president’s two homes in Wilmington, Delaware, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, following the news of the first documents.
White House lawyers said they immediately contacted the Department of Justice (DOJ) when they discovered the second batch of documents inside the Wilmington garage.
“Lawyers discovered among personal and political papers a small number of additional Obama-Biden administration records with classified markings. All but one of these documents were found in storage space in the President’s Wilmington residence garage,” White House lawyers said in a statement.
Last week, the FBI searched Biden’s Rehoboth Beach home as officials continued their investigation. According to the president’s attorney, Bob Bauer, the federal agency did not find any classified documents during their search.

“Under DOJ’s standard procedures, in the interests of operational security and integrity, it sought to do this work without advance public notice, and we agreed to cooperate,” Bauer said. “The search today is a further step in a thorough and timely DOJ process we will continue to fully support and facilitate. We will have further information at the conclusion of today’s search.”
A source close to the situation said that less than a dozen secret documents were discovered in Biden’s office. The purpose of the documents and their relevance are currently unknown. Official records and classified records must be turned over by federal officeholders upon leaving government employment, as required by law.
This comes as Biden is rumored to launch his re-election campaign in the coming weeks, following months of speculation.
Democrats, however, continue to question whether Biden’s advanced age can handle another presidential term, especially after he admitted in an interview last October that his age is “a legitimate thing to be concerned about.”
Biden became the oldest individual ever elected to serve in the White House, and he could break the record should he decide to seek re-election in 2024.
