Former President Donald Trump received a standing ovation after proclaiming that he started zero wars during his presidency.
Speaking at CPAC 2023 on Saturday, Trump said that he was the only president in “modern history” who did not get the U.S. into any new wars.

“Remember when the Democrats and my Republican opponents would often look at me during the debates and they’d say ‘No, no! He’s going to bring us into World War III!’ Because it’s his personality type,” he said. “They said I had the personality type. I said no; I had the personality type that kept us out of wars because people knew they weren’t going to mess around with us.
This comes as Trump recently kicked off his presidential campaign after formally announcing it in November. The ex-president previously warned that another world war could break out thanks to the Biden administration’s failed foreign policies.
In a video published by The National Pulse last month, Trump blasted the White House claiming, “we need to clean house of all the warmongers and America Last globalists in the deep state, the Pentagon, the State Department and the National Security industrial complex.”
“One of the reasons I was the only president in generations who didn’t start a war is that I was the only president who rejected the catastrophic advice of many of Washington’s generals, bureaucrats, and the so-called diplomats who only know how to get us into conflict, but they don’t know how to get us out,” Trump added.
Trump also claimed that his administration brought peace to the world by putting America first and promised to change the national security establishment should he win the presidency again.
“We never had it so good, will also stop the lobbyists and the big defense contractors from going in and pushing our senior military and national security officials toward conflict, only to reward them when they retire with lucrative jobs getting paid millions and millions of dollars,” he added.
“We could end the Ukraine conflict in 24 hours with the right leadership. At the end of my next four years the warmongers and frauds and failures of the senior ranks of our government will all be gone. And we will have a new group of competent national security officials who believe in defending America’s vital interests above all else. Thank you,” Trump concluded.
