Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is in hot water over how he described his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Speaking at the annual South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, Emhoff was asked to describe Harris by her former spokeswoman and senior advisor, Symone Sanders-Townsend.

“What do you think is the most surprising thing about Vice President Harris that people out there don’t know?” Sanders-Townsend asked the second gentleman.
“She’s like, normal. She’s exceedingly normal,” Emhoff answered, adding that Harris loves to cook food, have “fun,” and listen to music.
Netizens were quick to poke fun at Emhoff’s answers, which went viral on Twitter after RNC Research posted a clip of the interview.
“If how she is in public is exceedingly normal then I’d like to know how he sees actual normal people,” one user tweeted.
“[She] laughs so she doesn’t have to answer questions she has no idea what’s going on,” another tweeted.
Harris has been the subject of scrutiny for her embarrassing gaffes during public events, most notably when she gets uncomfortably excited around school buses.
Last month, the vice president gushed over an electric school bus that has Wi-Fi and can charge your phone.
“The bus has Wi-Fi and even USB outlets next to every seat. I mean, come on, imagine — you could charge your phone!” she said it as if she were about to burst out into laughter.
This isn’t the first time the vice president has made her deadbeat joke. In January, Harris discussed her love for electric school buses while speaking at the University of Michigan.
“I’m excited about electric school buses. I LOVE electric school buses. I just love them! For so many reasons,” she said. “Maybe because I went to school on a school bus. Hey, raise your hand if you went to school on a school bus!”
This comes after reports of Democrats turning their backs on Harris surfaced. According to the New York Times, Democratic officials have become increasingly frustrated with Harris’ inability to define her tenure in office.
The report also claims that Democrats are concerned that any attempt to drop Harris from the ticket will anger key constituencies within their base.
