Arizona Supreme Court Gives Kari Lake Huge Victory After She Exposes Signature Verification Issues

The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Republican Kari Lake’s election irregularity claims.

The justices accepted Lake’s argument that the lower courts dismissed her legal battle against local election authorities and Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs after losing the midterm elections last year.

“HUGE: AZ Supreme Court Rules In Favor of Kari Lake, Forces Lower Court to Look at Signature Verification Issues,” Lake tweeted on Wednesday.

Despite the Republican hopeful’s small win, the justices ruled against Lake on six of seven other claims of voting irregularities.

Chief Justice Robert Brutinel wrote in the ruling that the court will adjudicate on Lake’s contention that Maricopa County disregarded Arizona law regarding ballot tally.

She is being compelled to show that “votes [were] affected ‘in sufficient numbers to alter the outcome of the election’” based on a “competent mathematical basis to conclude that the outcome would plausibly have been different, not simply an untethered assertion of uncertainty.”

Lake claimed several irregularities in the 2022 gubernatorial election, including voting machine issues in 60 percent of the county’s 115 polling places.

“Lake included a graphic displaying a sampling of ballots that were counted despite being signed in a hand that appeared to differ sharply from the voter’s signature in the voter registration database,” Just the News reported at the time. “The signatures that Lake posted were shared in a presentation to the Arizona state Senate Elections Committee the day she tweeted them.”

The majority of counties in Arizona do not count ballots at polling places. Instead, officials bring the ballots to a central facility for counting.

Maricopa County’s main election building, where votes are tabulated, was the scene of protests by hundreds of Trump supporters after former President Donald Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election.

This comes as Lake claimed on Twitter that there is court-adjudicated merit to her contentions about the election, adding that her critics wanted to see her criminally charged for contesting the midterm election results.

“They want to ARREST me for exposing fraud in the 2022 Election,” Lake tweeted on Wednesday. “Now, the AZ Supreme Court has ruled that the very fraud I highlighted has to be looked at. This is big, folks. Hit me with your best shot. I will never, ever back down. Try me.”
