Hunter Biden reportedly does not trust the White House to defend him and his family’s business associates from the House Oversight Committee’s investigation.
According to a source involved in Hunter’s legal team, he does not trust the “paranoid” White House’s public relations strategy, which is led by his father President Joe Biden’s senior adviser Anita Dunn.
“Judging by how they handled the communications and P.R. effort during and after the documents scandal and the drip-drip-drip of endless cycles, it’s no wonder Hunter has no faith in them,” the source said. “Their response was baffling and flatfooted.”
“It makes sense that Hunter would want his own press apparatus when the White House can barely react to their own crisis without pissing off the press and donors and Democratic members of Congress,” they continued.
Since January, Hunter has employed no less than four powerful lawyers to help protect him and the Biden family business from being investigated. However, the coalition was short-lived. In March, Joshua Levy, who had been working on the younger Biden’s criminal defense, stepped down due to conflicts within the legal team.
While Hunter’s team continues to defend him, it appears the White House is attempting to disregard the House Oversight Committee’s release of incriminating financial documents — information that Biden has denied but his son has confirmed.
“Look, I’m — I’m just not going to respond to that from here,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said on Wednesday. “And I don’t even where to begin to even answer that question because, again, it’s been lies and lies and inaccuracy for the past couple years.”
The investigation into the Bidens’ family business is heating up, as House Oversight Chair James Comer recently subpoenaed banks for records relating to the Bidens.
“The Oversight Committee has subpoenaed and obtained financial records related to the Biden family’s influence peddling. These documents solidify our understanding of several areas of concern and have opened new avenues of investigation about the Biden family’s business schemes,” Comer said earlier this month.
This marks a significant advancement because it represents a turning point in the probe of the investigation into the international commercial practices of the Biden family.
