A new taxi company in Ohio could make the city rich!

There hasn’t been any progress in Dayton, even though the city has added hotels, more apartment buildings, and breweries. But a new flying cab service might make people more interested in the city.

A new company is going to help the city of Dayton make hundreds of flying cars every year. Air cars that can take off and land vertically are made by Joby Aviation. They are known as eVTOLs.

Jobs says they plan to hire more than 2,000 people to work at the new center they are building in Dayton, Ohio. They told us a few reasons they decided to live in Dayton.

It has a long past in aviation—it’s where flight began, according to the company. “The people who work in manufacturing in Ohio are talented and skilled,” the company said. “We plan to hire and train a mix of local and national applicants.”

This flying cab might even show up at the Olympics this summer in Paris. People think the taxi will change how people move and get around cities. Joby has called them the “Uber of the skies.”

Over the years, people’s interest in flying cars has grown, and now there are a lot of new companies trying to be the first in their field. The market for electric flying cars is expected to be worth more than eleven trillion dollars in fifteen years.

These flying cars can go as fast as 200mph and have room for four people. It was able to get from JFK Airport to Manhattan in seven minutes during test trips months ago. Getting there by car, taxi, or subway would take about an hour.
