A look at the two best companies for working parents

Parents, daycares, and caregivers all find it hard to find a balance between having a child and working. It’s hard for parents to find jobs that offer paid parental leave, good health insurance, and stable child care.

Just Capital, a partner of CNBC, looked into the biggest companies in the US to see which ones help parents who work.

America is very clear about what they think companies should put first: their people, said Alison Omens, president of Just Capital. Just Capital did study and found that American Express, Goldman Sachs, Deckers Outdoor, S&P Global, and Splunk are the best places to work in the United States as a parent.

All of these businesses offer at least twenty weeks of paid parental leave for both main and secondary caregivers. They also hire backup caregivers for their employees’ dependents and treat all caregivers equally during parental leave.

Omens said, “What the pandemic showed, and what is still true today, is that paid parental leave is very important for working parents, especially mothers who care for their children more than any other gender.”

Mario and Lauren Washington said that their parental leave at S&P Global changed the way their family worked a lot after they had their second child.

Lauren said, “Those first few weeks seem like they were over so quickly, but they really helped our family’s balance and relationship.” “Mario’s help helped our oldest daughter adjust from being an only child to having a big sister, and it allowed me to focus on taking care of our new baby and getting better,” she said.

An HR knowledge assistant at SHRM named Yvette Lee spoke out, saying, “Paid parental leave is an expensive idea.” If you lose key employees, it may cost you even more. Lee went on to say that the money spent on these projects pays off, especially in the long run.
