A Red Wave is Taking Over This Liberal City

New poll reveals that Republicans are on track to win the midterms in Democratic-led New York City.

According to the latest co/efficient poll, GOP Rep. Lee Zeldin has taken the lead over his opponent, Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul. 45.6 percent of voters favor Zeldin, just slightly more than Hochul, who got 45.3 percent.

Co/efficient pollster Ryan Munce suggested that people are finally opening their eyes as New York grapples to get a hold on running crime and an influx of illegal immigrants arriving in the city at the hands of Democratic leadership.

“The race has been tightening over the last few weeks and it appears that it is now a dead heat. The shift has been led by predominantly white and Hispanic registered Democrats defecting to support Zeldin, the Republican candidate,” Munce told The New York Post.

“With a little under three weeks to go, we still expect to see measurable movement in the statewide electorate and if the trend continues, New York could have its first Republican governor since 2006,” he continued.

Following the latest poll results, Zeldin released a statement saying that he has the momentum to win the Nov. 8 election.

“The stakes couldn’t be higher and the polls couldn’t be closer. We need every single New Yorker who is sick and tired of the attacks on our wallets, safety, kids’ education, and more to come out to vote and Save Our State,” Zeldin said.

“This is our last chance to turn New York around by firing Kathy Hochul, electing new leadership to restore balance to Albany, secure our streets, and put hardworking New York families first,” he added.

Democrats are fearing that the infighting and overall dissatisfaction with the Biden administration could cost them their majority in both houses of Congress during the midterm elections.

The latest NYT/Siena College survey found that 49 percent of voters are more likely to vote for a Republican candidate in the midterms, compared to the 45 percent who plan to vote for a Democrat.

If Zeldis wins the election in New York this fall, we may see a bigger red wave than many thought possible.
