Attorney General Jason Miyares filed a lawsuit against President Joe Biden over a Department of Agriculture school meal program that pushes a “far-left political ideology on local school districts.”
During an interview with Breitbart News, Mirayes said that the Biden administration is using the department’s school lunch assistance program to spread woke ideologies.
“To just make sure everybody knows exactly what’s happening: you have the Department of Agriculture — the USDA — which is saying for school districts that provide reduced lunches for needy children — nutrition assistance for needy children — ‘If you want this money, you have to allow biological males to play women’s sports, and you have to allow biological males to use women’s bathrooms,” he said.
The department has begun printing out posters with leftist messaging such as “institution is prohibited from discrimination on “the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.”
While the Democrats claim that the words on the poster are just mere reminders not to discriminate against other people, Republicans believe that it’s a sign of “federal overreach.”
“Don’t use nutrition assistance programs, for reduced lunches for needy kids, as a vehicle for you to say you have to allow biological males on our sports team and in our women’s sports teams and in our girls’ bathrooms,” Miyares said.
Agreeing to hang the poster also means that schools are allowing sex-specific bathrooms, uniforms, and pronouns that correspond to biological sex. Disobeying the program could result in the school being sued, as well.
Additionally, the Old Dominion Republican called out far-left prosecutors such as Buta Biberaj for non-prosecution of criminals and releasing them back into the public.
Biberaj, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Loudoun County, was recently removed from a criminal case by a judge for “deliberately misleading the Court and the public” in an attempt to “sell” a plea deal.
“The defendants already have a defense attorney, they don’t need a second one,” Miyares said. “Your job is to serve as a prosecutor and make sure that we are keeping in mind both the victims and making sure our streets are safe.”
