Celebrity lawyer Alan Dershowitz predicts that former US President Donald Trump will “probably” be convicted of the 34 criminal charges that he’s facing in New York.
According to the lawyer, the conviction could be tossed out on appeal.
In a statement released by 84-year old Dershowitz during his appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show” this week, he claimed that “I don’t think I could get this case dismissed.”
Atty. Dershowitz’s statement came shortly after the former President pleaded not guilty to more than 30 felony counts of falsifying business records filed against him.
“I don’t think that if you had the best lawyers in the history of the world — Abraham Lincoln and John Marshall — a New York City judge would dismiss this case because that New York City judge’s life would be over,” the lawyer said in a statement.
He also added that “Everybody would point to him the way they pointed to me when I defended Trump: ‘Oh my God, there’s the man who helped Trump get free.’”
In addition, the former Harvard Law School professor also claimed that his former client would “probably” be convicted by a “New York jury who voted for [DA Alvin Bragg] and voted for ‘get Trump.’”
“It will be reversed on appeal, it will never be affirmed all the way up to the Supreme Court,” the lawyer predicted.
“But Bragg is going to be popular, and he’ll probably win this case — unless there is a change of venue,” he added.
The prediction comes as former US President Donald Trump repeatedly denied the charges filed against him that stemmed from the alleged hush-money payments he made to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump’s counsels have also vowed to fight the accusations.
According to Joe Tacopina on Wednesday, the charges filed against Trump would eventually be tossed out.
“I mean, this is not a game. You’re charging the [former] president of the United States with crimes, crimes that will never be sustained in a court of law because they don’t exist,” he reportedly argued.
On December 4, Donald Trump is scheduled to return to court.
