“Alarming” Number of Americans Experiencing Prolonged Covid Symptoms?!

When COVID-19 broke out, a lot of people had a lot of different symptoms, some of which lasted for a long time.

These symptoms usually last a long time after you get better from being sick. Some people have had them for years after getting better. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been a scary rise in the number of people with long Covid signs over the last few months.

There is a chance that more than 17 million Americans are living with long-term Covid effects. Symptoms must last for at least four weeks after getting over the virus to be called long-term.

“The rise in long Covid cases is especially worrisome because we still don’t know all of the things that long Covid does, how it does them, and why it does them,” said Lara Jirmanus, a clinical teacher at Harvard Medical School. “No one knows how long Covid will do in five years,” Jirmanus said. I don’t believe it’s smart to ignore all warning.

The best way to avoid these long-term effects, according to David Putrino, who works for the Center for Recovery From Complex Chronic Illness, is to stay away from Covid completely. Vaccines and separation will help, but those are still not ideal.

Putrino said, “Every time you get a Covid infection, you raise your chances of finally getting long Covid.”

They also said that there is no cure for long-term Covid symptoms and that not much study is being done on them right now. Also, these signs can get worse every time you get the virus, which raises your risk.

People want the government to be honest with the public about the risks and chances of these long-term symptoms, especially since millions of people are still dealing with headaches, loss of smell, loss of taste, and other symptoms months after getting the virus.
