An armed Utah man was shot and killed by FBI agents during a Wednesday morning raid.
This operation was in connection to alleged assassination threats targeting President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and other prominent Democrats, including Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
The fatal shooting occurred in Provo around 6:15 a.m. as federal agents attempted to execute arrest and search warrants at a residence, as confirmed by a statement from the FBI office in Salt Lake City to The Post.
The suspect, Craig Robertson, 75 had been facing serious charges, including interstate threats, a threat against the president, and influencing, impeding, and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers through threats.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously,” the statement stated.
“In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division,” it added.
Robertson’s social media posts, which were described as unhinged in a 39-page federal complaint obtained by The Post from the Utah US Attorney’s office, contained threats to assassinate President Biden and other high-profile Democrats.
Robertson, who identified himself in his social media posts as a “MAGA TRUMPER,” had been making explicit threats on Facebook against various individuals, including President Biden, Vice President Harris, New York Attorney General Letitia James, US Attorney General Merrick Garland, and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Of particular concern was a recent status update by Robertson, an Air Force veteran, suggesting that he was planning to make an attempt on President Biden’s life during the commander-in-chief’s upcoming visit to the Beehive State.
“I hear Biden is coming to Utah,” Robertson allegedly wrote on Sunday.
“Digging out my old ghille suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle. Welcome, Buffoon-in-chief!”
In the complaint, an FBI agent highlighted that Robertson’s posts represented a “knowing and willful true threat to kill or cause injury to President Biden.”
The seriousness of the threats prompted the authorities to take decisive action, leading to the fatal encounter during the raid.
Although Robertson was armed at the time of the raid, detailed information about the circumstances surrounding the “agent-involved shooting” was not provided by the agency spokesperson.
However, two law enforcement sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity to the Associated Press, confirmed that Robertson was indeed armed during the operation.
