Biden Insists the US Is Doing Better Than When Trump Was in Office

A delusional President Joe Biden insists that the U.S. is in better shape than it was during the Trump administration.

During an interview with Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC, Biden said that most of what the Democrats have passed and what they’ve done has not “kicked in yet” when asked about the latest polls showing Republicans in the lead to win the midterm elections in November.

“I’m not sure about the polls,” the president said. “Because the way people conduct polls today, it’s hard. 90% of it is you get on the telephone, where you have to call seven times to get somebody to answer the phone, number one. Number two, a lot of what we’ve done and we’ve passed has not kicked in yet.”

He then boasted about his administration’s achievements while leaving out all of the havoc that he has caused, such as the worsening inflation and the southern border crisis.

“For example, we have all this money to rebuild the highways, bridges, Internet, etc. But it’s going to take time. It’s not all happening overnight. It’s not like we passed a law and all of a sudden the highways and bridges are all functioning. And it’s not like we’re in a position where we’re saying no senior — which we do — is going to have to pay more than $2,000 a year for their drug costs. It hasn’t kicked in yet. It doesn’t kick in until next year,” Biden said.

Despite Biden’s confidence that he thinks he has been a competent president over the past two years, his approval ratings say otherwise. According to a Quinnipiac University survey, the president’s most recent approval ratings show that 60 percent of Americans disapprove of his performance.

Democrats are also increasingly rejecting Biden as their party’s 2024 presidential nominee, as an ABC News/The Washington Post survey found that 56 percent of Democratic voters don’t want him to mount a re-election run while only 35 percent want him to run for a second term.

The Biden administration’s failures could also cost the Democrats’ majority in both houses of Congress during the midterms. The latest NYT/Siena College poll found that 49 percent of voters are more likely to vote for a Republican candidate in the midterms, compared to the 45 percent who plan to vote for a Democrat.

This indicates that an increasing number of Americans are losing trust in Biden, including fellow Democrats who are already blaming him for the party’s impending doom.
