President Joe Biden is once again capitalizing on a recent tragedy to push his leftist agendas.
On July 4, Biden sent out a statement in response to the recent Highland Park shooting in Illinois in which he used the latter portion to push for more gun control.
“I recently signed the first major bipartisan gun reform legislation in almost thirty years into law, which includes actions that will save lives,” he said. “But there is much more work to do, and I’m not going to give up fighting the epidemic of gun violence.”
This comes days after a gunman opened fire at a Fourth of July parade in Chicago’s Highland Park suburb, killing six people and injuring 24 others. Police later announced that they have arrested 22-year-old Robert Crimo III, a “six-foot Hip hop phenom’ born on Sept. 20, 2000.”
While Crimo’s motives are still unclear, Fox News reported that he released a track in 2021 that “appears to suggest that Crimo was planning a life-defining act beyond his ability to stop, and that the accompanying video had drawings of a man aiming a rifle at another person.”
Highland Park mayor Nancy Rotering condemned the country’s response to mass shootings after she apparently received a handbook for mayors responding to such tragedies.
“I’ve heard from so many mayors who have gone through this very experience,” Rotering said in an interview on MSNBC. “They have sent me the handbook that has been sent to mayors post mass shootings. What does this say about us as a country? We have a handbook for mayors after a mass shooting. That’s ridiculous.”

Following the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas last May, Biden urged lawmakers to pass more gun control laws and stand up against gun lobbyists.
“As a nation, we have to ask when in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?” the president said.
