Biden’s Base Shrinks by Double Digits in a Single Month

New poll shows that President Joe Biden is further losing Democratic support ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

According to a survey conducted by Gallup late last month, support among Democratic voters slid by 11 points from September. Only 75 percent of Democrats support the president, compared to last month’s 86 percent.

This comes as Biden is struggling to handle the war between Israel and Gaza. The president has repeatedly expressed his support for Israel in the wake of the attack by the terrorist organization Hamas earlier last month, but Democrats are instead calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Progressive Democrats are also demanding Biden to stop supporting Israel and take a firm stance against the country’s crusade in Gaza. Users of X, formerly Twitter, have taken to the social media platform to declare that they won’t vote for him next year.

“Biden’s immediate and decisive show of support for Israel following the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas appears to have turned off some in his own party, resulting in Democrats’ worst assessment of the president since he took office,” said Gallup in its report.

“Biden’s overall approval rating likewise matches his personal low. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict comes at a time when Americans remain pessimistic about the economy, the Biden administration is struggling to deal with increasing numbers of migrants attempting to enter the country, and debate continues about how much aid to provide to Ukraine in its war with Russia,” the analytics company concluded.

Biden is in danger of losing the 2024 presidential election following dissatisfaction from the public. According to the survey conducted by the Associated Press recently, only 21 percent of adults express confidence in the president’s performance. Among them, 36 percent are Democrats, whereas only 7 percent are Republicans.

Meanwhile, only 24 percent of the population looks at the economy in a positive light, with a staggering 76 percent considering it in a state of decline.

“Biden’s handling of specific issues: Negative views on national economy, gun policy, and immigration; only a third approve. Slightly more positive on student loans,” the AP noted of the president’s performance.
