Biden’s Campaign Has Entered the TikTok Platform Despite Apprehensions

President Joe Biden’s campaign for president in 2024 is now on TikTok, even though the president is worried about national security on the app.

Many people are surprised that President Biden’s campaign is on TikTok, since the president has banned the app from government devices because he thinks it poses a threat to national security. It has been made clear that President Joe Biden will not be joining TikTok personally. Instead, the social app will only have campaign-related videos and photos.

So that the campaign can reach more voters, the account should be run by people on the campaign team. The most current post from the campaign account shows President Biden being asked about the Super Bowl. They even bring up Taylor Swift.

A lot of people have talked about the TikTok app and the problems that people who download and use it might have. The FBI and the FCC both said that ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, could give the Chinese government information about its users, like their computer history and where they are.

Campaign officials did say that they were doing everything they could to keep the account safe from security breaches and other problems that could happen when people share videos about the election on TikTok. Since 2017, these worries have grown because China passed a rule that companies must send over any personal information that could be important for the security of the country.

The campaign account for Vice President Joe Biden is called BidenHQ, and it will regularly share clips from his campaigns. Along with TikTok, the president is already on Instagram, Facebook, X, and Truth Social, among other social media sites. They want to reach younger voters and use smaller events to do a lot of social media advertising, so having him on these sites fits with that plan.
