Breast cancer tumors can be killed with ice therapy?!

We have found a new way to treat breast cancer, and it involves killing breast cancer cells with ice.

An updated study from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York discovered that cold treatment could effectively freeze and kill small cancerous tumors.

Cryoablation is the name of the method. It is a minimally invasive treatment that would work well for people who can’t have surgery.

One hundred and sixty people who couldn’t have surgery but got Cryoablation were part of the study. After sixteen months, ninety percent of those sixty people still didn’t have cancer come back.

Interventional surgeon Dr Yolanda Bryce said, “Traditionally, surgery to remove the tumor has been the standard of care for people with breast cancer, especially if the cancer is limited to the breast and hasn’t spread to other parts of the body.”

However, people who take blood thinners or have other health problems might not be able to have surgery. This is where Cyroablatian comes in.

In this method, a radiologist puts needle-like probes into the breast to freeze the growth and kill the cells inside it. Researchers have found that this, along with other standard treatments, can completely get rid of cancer.

According to Bryce, cryoablation has been used for a long time to treat smaller breast tumors. However, this study shows that it can also work for people with bigger tumors.

However, Bryce said that the biggest risk of this method is that the freeze could hurt or damage the skin, which is known as freezer burn. But Bryce said that people who did have these bad effects were able to get better with skin creams and painkillers.
