Dem Lawmakers Take Cash From Convicted Terrorist Financier

President Biden and Democratic lawmakers have been taking donations from a convicted terrorist who has supported jihadist violence and 9/11 perpetrator Osama Bin Laden, according to the Federal Election Commission records.

Emadeddin Muntasser and his two associates were convicted in January 2008 after attempting to defraud the United States government, as well as lying to the FBI to obtain tax-exemption status. Muntasser operated an Islamic charity abroad called Care International, which acted as a front to finance the Islamic jihad.

Muntasser served only five months in a Rhode Island prison and another five months under house arrest. He was also on supervised release for six months and paid a measly $10,000 fine.

According to Federal Commission records, Muntasser became a Democratic donor after his release, first donating $1,000 to Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey in 2018.

Muntasser continued funding other Democrat lawmakers such as New Jersey Representative Tom Malinowski—taking $2,250 from Muntasser in 2018, as well as progressive leaders like Rana Abdelhamid and Muad Hrezi, who both received $2,900.

The convicted terrorist financier Muntasser also donated to Biden’s presidential campaign last year with $250.

This has caused tensions within the Democratic party, with longtime Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf calling the situation “unbelievable.”

“Democrats can’t do anything but set themselves up for failure at this point,” Sheinkopf said. “This shows a lack of judgment and what it will be portrayed as is they will do anything to get money for their campaigns. They will deal with anybody — even enemies of the nation. They lose the moral argument entirely.”

The primary purpose of Muntasser’s Care International was to financially support the mujahideen and promote jihadist violence, according to their sentencing memorandum.

From 1993 to 1995, Muntasser transferred a total of $120,000 to Makhtab al-Khidamat, a terrorist organization co-founded by Bin Laden using funds from Care International. Muntasser also met with global terrorist Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in 1995.

Muntasser proclaims himself as a “human rights and political leader” today and currently runs a real estate firm based in Massachusetts, which has received Paycheck Protection Program loan from the U.S. government.
