Dems Busted Pretending to Be Handcuffed During Protest

Far-left Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar were busted for faking being handcuffed during a pro-abortion demonstration.

On Tuesday, more than 30 radical Democrats, including Ocasio-Cortez and Omar, were arrested by Capitol Police for blocking traffic outside the Supreme Court.

The New York lawmaker was gently escorted away by a police officer, but a viral video captured that she was pretending to be handcuffed.

“AOC pretended to be in handcuffs when she was escorted away from the Supreme Court,” the official account for the conservative paper Washington Free Beacon tweeted.

“The Capitol Police must have put invisible handcuffs on @AOC!” joked political analyst Carmyn Kinsey on Twitter.

Ocasio-Cortez, however, insisted that she was not pretending to be in handcuffs when she put her arms behind her back.

“No faking here,” she tweeted. “Putting your hands behind your back is a best practice while detained, handcuffed or not, to avoid escalating charges like resisting arrest.”

Many conservative figures called out Ocasio-Cortez for engaging in amateur dramatics to push leftist agendas.

“You guys… @AOC is such a victim that she has to pretend that the big, mean policeman put her in handcuffs…She probably also thinks he wants to date her,” said conservative columnist Tim Young.

“.@AOC is such an expert at getting attention and narrative building that she PRETENDED to be handcuffed just so she could have this image on social media. There are no handcuffs on her lmfaoooo,” tweeted businessman Jason Howerton.

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar was also arrested during the protests and walked with her hands behind her back despite not having a police escort.

“It’s not clear in this video of @ilhanmn that she is in handcuffs – staff says she has been taken into custody along with other MOC during a pro abortion rights protest – it looks at the end of the clip that she is not in cuffs,” reporter Esme Murphy noted of Omar’s arrest video.

According to Capitol Police, 35 people — including 17 members of Congress — were arrested. The lawmakers were subsequently taken to a grassy area between the Supreme Court and Capitol building where their mugshots were taken.
