Dozens Of Suspected Terrorists Arrested At Border

There were the most migrants captured at the southern border in at least 22 years last month, putting the Biden administration’s intention to cease enforcement of Title 42 just a few weeks away in jeopardy.

Newly published CBP data shows that since President Biden took office, CBP agents have detained more than 40 suspected terrorist migrants as they attempted to cross the border illegally.

There have been 42 “arrests who were on the terror watchlist and attempted to enter the United States unlawfully” since January 20, 2021, according to data that the US Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations sent senators in response to a legislative question and acquired by Fox News Digital

People who are known or “reasonably suspected” of terrorist activity are listed in the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB). Republican legislators have frequently urged the administration to release the number of people it has encountered at the border.

The number does not include those who slipped through the cracks at the southern border due to overworked Border Patrol officials. In March alone, more than 62,000 illegal aliens escaped Border Patrol authorities, an average of 2,000 per day.

On August, 20 House Republicans led by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, requested that the Department of Homeland Security disclose a deluge of information regarding the ongoing crisis at the southern border. CBP has now responded with the newest information. Illegal immigrants who “are listed on a list kept by the Federal Government about terrorists or those barred from boarding commercial airplanes” were sought out by the MPs, who requested the total number of illegal immigrants.

The agency has come under fire from the legislature for what they saw as a lack of openness.

To avoid being irresponsible in light of the unprecedented severity of this situation, “it is extremely irresponsible for your Department to not be as open and honest as possible with American people, states, and municipalities,” the letter stated.

Between January 20 and December 31 of this year, Border Patrol captured 23 people, according to Fox News’ prior report. Data from the Office of Field Operations (OFO) has been incorporated into this current statistic, which includes people who have been stopped at ports of entry. Arrest records from around the country are included in the data, which is not limited to the southern border.

More than 220,000 border crossings were recorded in March by the Biden administration, making it the greatest number of crossings during his presidency.

CBP’s report to legislators includes information on the costs of caring for migrants. CBP has spent $95 million on staff, $338 million on infrastructure, 98 million on utilities and food, and $166 million on healthcare since January 20. It has also spent $12 million carrying migrants by road and $36 million transporting them by plane.

As a result of the Biden administration’s decision to withdraw the Title 42 public health order by the end of May, both Republicans and Democrats have expressed their worries, believing that it could lead to an even greater spike in migration to the already overburdened U.S. Border.

How will this influence Biden’s chances in the 2018 midterm elections? Knowing that the president’s last beck and call are the migrants.
