Russia gets banned from their airspace by Several European countries amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Several European countries are banning Russia, arguing that “they refuse to have planes of the aggressor state in democratic skies as the Kremlin continues its barbaric invasion of Ukraine” amid the ongoing conflict between the country and Ukraine.
As of Sunday afternoon, the Russian planes are banned from travelling to the United Kingdom, Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia.

“We’re stepping up our measures against the Russian aggression in Ukraine,” Czech Transport Minister Martin Kupka claimed.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte also posted a tweet, claiming that “No flights for aggressor planes in the freedom sky,” following the statement that Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas released, insisting that “there is no place for planes of the aggressor state in democratic skies.”
On Saturday, all flights from Dutch KLM Airlines to Russia were also cancelled following the European sanctions and would be “directing its pilots to avoid Russian airspace.”
In retaliation, Russia has also banned many of the same countries from its airspace, including Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, and Czech Republic.
“Air carriers of these states and/or registered in them are subject to restrictions on flights to destinations on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the federal air transport agency Rosaviation said.
