Frustrated Mayor Ditches Dems And Switches Party

More people than usual have switched parties in the United States. Why?

Is the Democratic Party a supporter of the American people or a foe? Do you think the Democrats will be elected to office in 2022?

Mayor John Lee, who used to be a Democrat but is now campaigning for the Republican nomination in North Las Vegas, says no to both queries.

“Un-American” and “looney” Democrats are now the “clear favorite” to win the 2022 election, according to him, and it’s that party, not Democrats, that will win in 2020.

When he went on Fox News to promote his re-election campaign, he slammed the Democrats with a hammer.

As he began, he described how the Democratic Party had strayed from his ideas and become “completely anti-American.” It’s how he put it:

“I was no longer in the party’s path. In reality, the socialist agenda that has taken root in the Democratic Party is driving away many of its former members. They’re vehemently opposed to everything that’s American. Those who shared my views on the qualities, values, and morality of being a decent American had no home. It had come to it. Right now, they’ve completely demolished the Democratic Party”.

The socialist program, he said, is no longer something he can support or stand for, and that the Democratic Party has evolved tremendously in the last several decades, saying:

“During a recent leadership election, four candidates were Socialist Party members. This is not the party I grew up with 25 years ago, and it isn’t the party I can support anymore.”

He then went on to describe the Democrats as a group of elitists and socialists who no longer serve the interests of small businesses and the working people, saying:

“The working class and small company owners in our nation are no longer a part of the discussion. The elitists and socialists are at the root of it all. “That’s not what I have in mind for our country in the future,” he says.

Finally, Lee discussed his beliefs, which are now more closely linked with the Republican Party and Republicans than the Democrats, noting that he had thought the party would turn back but had not. Lee went on to describe his views. As he put it to me:

A pro-life and pro-gun Democrat who is also quite conservative isn’t well-known in the Democratic Party,” he explains. “I stayed so long hoping the party would improve; it worsened.”

Lee’s decision to leave the Democrat Party and join the Republican Party was probably a calculated political move. According to a recent study by Fox News, people are returning to the Republican Party in droves, especially those who live in the suburbs. In the words of that outlet:

A bleak outlook for Democrats in the midterm elections of 2022 is portrayed by the fact that more than a million Americans have shifted from the Democratic to Republican parties in the last year.

Research by The Associated Press shows that Republicans are gaining the most in the suburbs of major and medium-sized cities. People who supported Joe Biden in 2020 are suffering from inflation and becoming increasingly suspicious of Democratic social themes.

The number of Americans who switched parties last year was around 1.73 million. Two-thirds of those people have voted Republican, while just 630,000 have voted Democrat.

Especially for Lee, it may be the difference between life and death. In addition, he no longer has to appease the elderly or support socialism.

Politicians’ efforts to convince political independents have resulted in a high level of instability, which is to be expected. During an age of political polarization, why did people who had previously identified with a political party suddenly switch sides? What will happen to the Democrats’ slim majority in the Senate? Will a “red wave overtake the House?”
