GOP Governor HUMILIATES News Host

GOP governor trades blows with Chuck

There is a week left until the midterm as Republicans and Democrats try to curry favor with American voters. The two sides have very different beliefs when it comes to American concerns. New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu has exchanged criticisms with NBC News’s Chuck Todd about what voters should prioritize this election cycle.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, Sununu was asked to explain his support for US Senate candidate Don Bolduc, a Republican in the running to represent New Hampshire, whom Todd called an “election denialist.”.

Sununu responded, calling Todd out of touch for suggesting that voters should emphasize the 2020 election results and so-called “threats to democracy” by heating their homes this winter or putting food on the table.

“Why do you support an election denier and think the inflation issue is enough to rationalize support for someone who thinks [this way]?” Todd asked.

“I love you, Chuck, but you’re in a bubble if you think someone is talking about what happened in 2020 or Mar-a-Lago and all,” Sununu replied. “I know the press likes to talk about it, but people talk about what goes into their pocketbooks every day when they have to shop or fill up.”

“Look, I have that governor,” Todd interrupted. “Should they be?”

“Should they be?” Sununu replied, visibly surprised. “Sure! My God, Chuck, this is hitting people; they’re having trouble paying their mortgage, and they’re having trouble paying the car because of bad policies in Washington. Should they be?

“The beauty of the American system is that every voter has the right, and almost the responsibility, to be selfish with their vote, to vote for what is best for them and their families,” he continued. “This is exactly what will happen in a week … because, frankly, people who think the average voter is worried about 2020 is a serious problem, of course, but it’s not what people are going to vote on next week”.

Pushed again on the issue, Sununu stressed that “threats to democracy” are important issues that need to be addressed, but voters should definitely be concerned about the most pressing local issues and the economy.

“It’s 35 degrees [in New England],” Sununu said. “People are filling their 270-gallon tanks [ home heating oil], and it’s costing them ($1,200- $1,300). Kerosene is limited because there is no incentive to create more natural gas or more fuel for this country, and that should be our priority: to keep people warm this winter. “

Even in NBC News polls, Americans were more likely to say that economic woes and inflation were the country’s most pressing concerns. According to an NBC News poll conducted earlier this month, a total of 35 percent of Americans considered “jobs and the economy” one of the most important issues; another 29% said it was the “cost of living.” Only 30% believed that “threats to democracy” were an urgent matter before the elections on 8 November. Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) recently had a heated debate with NBC News’s Chuck Todd about American priorities.

The Republican governor met Todd for an interview on the network’s “Meet the Press.” During the discussion, Sununu apparently got agitated when the NBC host stated that Americans should worry more about the 2020 election and the threat he posed to democracy. Todd asked the governor to explain why he supported someone an NBC anchor claimed he denied the election to represent the state of Granite.

Sununu yelled at the reporter that he had no contact with the Americans if he truly believed the 2020 election was more important to voters than issues like inflation, feeding their families, and staying warm in the winter. Todd again urged the governor to support him for a candidate who denied the 2020 election results, asking Sununu if he really believed inflation was a bigger problem for voters.

A poll by Todd’s employer, NBC, showed that 35% of Americans said “jobs and the economy” were the most important issues. Meanwhile, 30% said their main concern was “threats to democracy.” Rounding out the top three issues among voters was the “cost of living,” which 29 percent of Americans felt was the most important issue ahead of mid-term elections.
