A truck driver saved the lives of several children when he informed authorities about a suspicious activity he caught in the act.
Michael, the abovementioned truck driver, noticed a pick-up truck halted next to him when he was taking a rest area along I-10 in New Mexico. He observed that a man and a woman unlocked a padlocked cage in the rear of the truck covered by a tarp and freed numerous kids inside the vehicle.
The kidnappers were seen leading the kids into and out of a restroom at the rest area before locking them back inside the cage, according to the footage the truck driver published.
Michael shared that he was seated at a rest stop. A truck arrived and unlocked the cage-looking thing at the back. The man and woman pulled the padlock off, and raised the tarp, and the children came out the back and were forced into the bathroom.
He added that they pushed and locked the kids back in there and pulled the tarp down when they came back out.
When the truck driver saw what happened, he instinctively decided to dial 911 after realizing that there was something wrong with what was happening.
He was still confused about what he had witnessed. He was also not a huge fan of calling the police, but when it comes to children’s safety, human trafficking, and other things going on in the world, he is not letting it pass.
The truck driver described that when the kidnappers saw him talking to someone on the phone, they immediately began to flee.
The police officer then advised him to follow the vehicle closely until their units arrived. However, due to the limitations of his truck, he was unable to keep up with the evading vehicle. Fortunately, he could still provide the necessary information that allowed law authorities to find and apprehend the kidnappers.
Michael explained in detail how he could not keep up with them and how, eventually, the police officers could follow and trap them. They immediately called child services to assist and help the rescued children.
