Hillary Clinton Says She Will Never Run For President Again

Former secretary of State and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said she will not run for president again.

During Tuesday’s “CBS Evening News,” Clinton was asked by anchor Norah O’Donnell if she would ever run for president again, to which Clinton said: “No, no.”

“But I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that we have a president who respects our democracy and the rule of law and upholds our institutions,” Clinton continued.

Clinton also said that former President Donald Trump “should be soundly defeated” if he runs again.

“It should start in the Republican Party,” she said. “Grow a backbone. Stand up to this guy.”

Trump, who defeated Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, has been teasing another run for president in 2024 and is currently a favorite among Republican voters.

Clinton previously said that she would endorse President Joe Biden if he runs for reelection the same year, which he has repeatedly said he plans to do, saying that he would be “the person most likely to win.”

“Joe Biden beat [Trump] in a huge landslide victory in the popular vote for Donald Trump. I think that says a lot,” Clinton said during an interview on NBC News in late June.

Similarly, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who ran against Biden in the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries, also said that he would support a reelection bid by Biden if he chooses to run in 2024.

“I think it’s a little too early,” he told CNN. “I think Biden will probably run again, and if he runs again, I will support him.”

Democrats are fearing that the infighting, along with the dissatisfaction with the Biden administration, could cost them their majority in Congress during the November 8 midterm elections.

According to a recent Quinnipiac University survey, 54 percent of Democrats don’t want Biden to mount a re-election run, while only 40 percent said that he should. Overall, a telling 71 percent of Americans oppose the president running for a second term.

This indicates that an increasing number of Americans are losing trust in the president, including fellow party members who have left Biden behind.
