A homeowner successfully repelled an alleged home invader and now the alleged accomplice has been released without charge.

An alleged home invasion in Terre Haute, Indiana resulted in a homeowner using self-defense, who shot and killed the alleged violator early Sunday morning. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential for a legally armed individual to prevent harm to innocent people. The Terre Haute Police Department shared details of the event in a Facebook post.

The following post says:

Vigo County Dispatch Central received a 911 call at around 5:30 a.m. today from the 200 block of N. Fruitridge Ave. reporting that a homeowner had just been shot and an intruder in his home. They also said a second person who was with the intruder had fled the area on foot.
